Read MoreFran’s mom, Rossie, is 84. She and her husband Jack live in a retirement home situated conveniently between us and the ferry, just a mile or so from us. Their world has grown smaller with Covid as all social programs have been put on hold and all residents are not allowed to leave the premises. (more…)

Read MoreLife is not so hard for us. We live above our workspace in West Seattle and we can take a ferry from there to a small family property on the peninsula. With summer, and with clear air, we are treated to views that will never get dulled from hedonic adaptation. I hope.
