Day 40 - Earth Day
Earth Day. I remember the first Earth Day, I was in 9th grade at St. Martin’s Protestant Episcopal School In New Orleans. It seemed like such a quaint idea. We were all aware that we should not litter, but that was pretty much the extent of our awareness of the earth’s situation (well, speaking for myself). But what we really need to understand is not that it is “Earth” day - Earth will be just fine without us. It’s “Life on Earth” day or, if we want to be selfish about it (sometimes selfishness helps us to focus) “Human Life on Earth” Day. There. That’s it. Have a happy HuLoE day, everyone. Don’t take one say for granted. And for our sake, vote. Or maybe more.
